JUVENILE CORRECTIONS PROGRAM





Criteria:

Designation to our facility would be based on the recommendations of the Placing Agency.

Capacity:

LRLEC will house 26 male/female offenders.

Admission:

Upon admission into the Facility, residents are informed of the of the Level System of which they will be scored on a daily basis, as well as all rules and regulations of the Facility.

The admissions process is conducted by the Juvenile Program Director who also maintains the Juvenile resident personal files.

Security:

The Lake Region Law Enforcement Center is a High Security Facility.

Programming:
(50+ Hours/Week)

Programming/activities are provided to all residents seven days a week.

General Equivalency Diploma
Correspondence Classes through University of North Dakota

Job Skills
Social Skills
Exploring Cultures, Current Events, Family Life, Parenting
Daily Living Skills (Health Awareness issues, diet, dental care, post release issues and planning)
Drivers Education (Study For Written Test)
Art Classes (Art History, Painting, Drawing, Special Projects)
Gardening (Plan, plant, care for and harvest produce
CPR/First Aid

Treatment Programs Offered:

Substance Abuse, Treatment and Education, Individual and Group Services
Evaluations and Referrals
 
Cognitive Restructuring Group, 2 Times Weekly
Individual Sex Offender Counseling
Sex Offender Group (Weekly, Conducted by a Therapist.  Individual Counseling with a Therapist according to the needs of the juvenile.)
   
A state licensed psychiatrist from the Human Service Center comes to the Facility once a month to see juveniles who may need medications, or adjustments made to medications they are taking.

Psychiatric evaluation services are provided by the Lake Region Human Service Center, which is operated and licensed by the State of North Dakota.
